One UI 8 smart clipboard has a twist
Samsung’s next big software update, One UI 8, based on Android 16, is set to bring a handy new tool called Smart Clipboard. This feature will make copying and pasting easier by letting users save multiple items like text and images, then pick what to paste later.
It’s a big step up from the usual clipboard, which only holds one item at a time. The update is expected to roll out in summer 2025, starting with the Galaxy S25 series and new foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.
But there’s a catch: Smart Clipboard might only be available on Samsung phones in China. A reliable tipster shared that users in other countries, like the US or Europe, may not get this feature when One UI 8 launches.
This has left many fans disappointed, as the tool sounds like a game-changer for multitasking. Samsung hasn’t confirmed if it will expand the feature globally, so for now, users outside China can only hope for a wider release.
One UI 8 is shaping up to be a solid update, with other features like better split-screen options and improved camera controls. The beta program kicked off in May 2025 for Galaxy S25 users in select countries, and the stable version should arrive by July or August. While Smart Clipboard’s limited availability is a bummer, Samsung’s focus on refining its software keeps Galaxy devices exciting.
