Samsung Galaxy S23 and S22 get June 2025 security update
Samsung is rolling out the June 2025 security update to its Galaxy S23 and S22 series, making these phones safer for users. The update, which started in South Korea, is now reaching more countries, including parts of Europe and Asia. It focuses on fixing security issues, with no new features or big changes included.
For the Galaxy S23, the update has firmware versions like S911BXXS6DYE5, S916BXXS6DYE5, and S918BXXS6DYE5, depending on the model. The Galaxy S22 series gets firmware S90*BXXS7FYF1. This patch tackles over 50 vulnerabilities, including 36 Android flaws and 19 Samsung-specific issues, keeping your data and device more secure.
The rollout is happening in stages, so some users might not see it yet. To check, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your phone. If it’s not available, you can wait a few days or manually install it using Samsung’s Odin tool on a Windows PC with the right firmware.
This update comes after Samsung finished pushing out One UI 7. The company is also preparing for One UI 8, based on Android 16, which could arrive as early as August 2025 for newer devices. For now, this security patch keeps the Galaxy S23 and S22 series protected and stable.
