Samsung has announced that its latest foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, will launch on July 9, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York, alongside its new software, One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. This is a big step for Samsung’s software, as these phones will be the first to come with this advanced system.

One UI, which started in 2018, is known for its easy-to-use design and smooth performance, developed with Google’s help. The new One UI 8 will bring better AI features to make daily tasks easier and improve how the phone works. The One UI 8 Beta program began on May 28, 2025, for users in South Korea, the US, UK, and Germany.

People can join the beta through the Samsung Members app to test it early and check if their device qualifies. After the launch, Samsung plans to roll out One UI 8 to other phones, starting with the Galaxy S25 and S24 series and the Z Fold6 in the third quarter of 2025. Mid-range and older flagship phones will get the update in the fourth quarter.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite and Exynos 2500 chips, will show off how Samsung’s new software and foldable designs work together. The event will also introduce the Galaxy Watch 8 series and improved AI features. You can watch it live on Samsung’s website or YouTube at 10 a.m. ET.
