Samsung is getting its Galaxy A15 5G and A16 5G ready for a big software update. The company has begun testing One UI 8, which is based on Android 16, for these popular mid-range phones. This shows Samsung’s commitment to bringing the latest features to affordable devices, not just its high-end models.

Recent reports reveal that the Galaxy A15 5G is testing a new build, labeled A156EDXU5DYF1, in Australia. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A16 5G is being tested in Europe with the build A166BXXU3CYF5.

These early tests suggest that Samsung is working hard to prepare both phones for the One UI 8 update, which will likely roll out soon after its official launch. The stable version of One UI 8 is expected to debut this summer, around July or August 2025, alongside Samsung’s new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.

While only the Galaxy S25 series is currently part of the One UI 8 beta program, the A15 5G and A16 5G could receive the update shortly after the stable release. For now, no public beta is planned for these models, but their testing progress is a promising sign.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Core

If you’re hoping for Samsung’s next premium earbuds before 2025 ends, you might need to adjust your plans. Samsung recently launched the budget-friendly Galaxy Buds Core in India, but those won’t replace the Galaxy Buds 3 series.

Exciting news, though—Samsung is working on the Galaxy Buds 4, a new premium earbud model, according to a report from Galaxy Club. Unlike typical releases, the Galaxy Buds 4 might launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series, expected around January or February 2026.

This timing is unusual, as Samsung usually pairs earbuds with other events, not flagship phone launches. Details about specs and pricing are still under wraps, but a Samsung patent from a few months ago suggests the earbuds could include Ultra-Wideband (UWB) connectivity for better tracking and connectivity.

However, it’s unclear if this feature will make it to the final product. It’s also uncertain whether Samsung will release both a standard Galaxy Buds 4 and a Pro version or just one model to succeed the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro.

Either way, fans of Samsung’s audio gear can look forward to a fresh addition to the lineup early next year, likely packed with new features to enhance your listening experience. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch.
