Samsung confirms Galaxy Z Fold 8 is coming

Samsung just launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but they’re already working on the next big thing. A company executive shared that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is in development, hinting at exciting upgrades. This news came when we asked about a possible Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition, following last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, which was like a test run for the Fold 7.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 brings a sleek, thinner design, a powerful 200MP main camera, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for top performance. It also has an 8-inch OLED screen, a 4,400mAh battery, and improved AI features for things like better photos and smarter searches. The folding hinge is smoother, making the screen crease less noticeable.
While no details about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 were shared, Samsung’s focus on innovation suggests it could be even thinner, faster, and more durable. There’s also talk of a device called the W26 spotted on China’s 3C website, but it’s unclear if it’s a special edition or a new Fold model with slight tweaks, like different colors or minor specs.
Samsung’s foldables keep getting better, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is already generating buzz. Fans are eager to see how it will push the limits of foldable phones. For now, the Z Fold 7 is a strong choice with its cutting-edge features and refined design.

New camera upgrades for Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 with One UI 8

Samsung unveiled its latest foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, on July 9, 2025, packed with exciting camera improvements powered by One UI 8, based on Android 16. These upgrades make taking photos and videos smoother and more fun for users. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 boasts a powerful 200MP main camera, delivering sharp, vibrant images.
Its front camera has jumped from 4MP to 10MP, making selfies clearer and more detailed. The Capture View feature now lets you easily favorite, share, or delete photos right after snapping them, saving time. For the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the camera system works seamlessly with its 4.1-inch cover screen, which acts as a viewfinder for high-quality selfies using the 50MP main camera.
A new shutter sound option for motion photos syncs perfectly with the moment you press the button, adding a polished touch to your shots. One UI 8 also brings Galaxy AI tools like Photo Assist and Generative Edit, letting you tweak images effortlessly, from removing objects to enhancing colors.
The Samsung Gallery app has been updated, making editing quick and simple, whether you’re adjusting a casual snap or creating something artistic. These features work smoothly on both phones’ cover and inner screens, ensuring a great experience.
Samsung plans to roll out these camera enhancements to older Galaxy devices with the One UI 8 update after July 30, 2025. Photography fans will love the creative possibilities these upgrades bring to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.

Samsung Galaxy Z 7 Series: Making foldable phones practical for all

Samsung Electronics recently launched the Galaxy Z7 series, aiming to make foldable phones a common choice by blending sleek design with smart AI features. The goal is to stay ahead in the global foldable phone market by combining style, durability, and cutting-edge technology.
At the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in Brooklyn, New York, on July 9, Samsung introduced three models: the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fan Edition (FE). These devices are thinner, lighter, and packed with practical features powered by Galaxy AI, tailored for foldable phones.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Samsung’s slimmest and lightest foldable yet, measuring just 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, weighing only 215g. Its improved hinge and internal design make it more durable than ever. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 enhances the outer screen’s usefulness, letting users access key AI tools like message summaries and real-time translation without unfolding the phone.
It also boasts better cameras, battery life, and a stronger hinge. Samsung also launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, its first budget-friendly foldable, making the technology more accessible. The series runs on advanced AI that understands text, voice, and images, offering features like summaries, translations, and photo creation.
For the first time, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 uses Samsung’s Exynos processor, marking a step toward reviving this chip. With Chinese brands like Huawei and Xiaomi pushing ultra-thin foldables, Samsung’s Z7 series combines design, functionality, and AI to keep its lead. “This series blends hardware and AI for our most advanced smartphone experience yet,” said Noh Tae-moon, head of Samsung’s DX Division.
New packaging for Google TV streamer

Google has updated the packaging for its Google TV Streamer, making it more user-friendly and secure while sticking to its eco-friendly goals. Last year, the company switched to plastic-free packaging for all its devices, part of a plan set in 2020. The Google TV Streamer’s box now features a simpler, more traditional design.
The updated box uses a smaller peel-off sticker instead of the larger one from before. This sticker works with a sleeve to keep the box closed and show if it’s been opened. Once the sticker is removed, you pull a tab to open the box easily. This new setup is sturdier, ensuring the contents stay safe even if the sticker is damaged.
Unlike the old design, where a torn sticker could leave the box unsecured, this version adds extra protection. The change makes the packaging feel more familiar, like standard boxes you’d see for tech gadgets. It’s a small but smart tweak that improves security without complicating the unboxing process.
Google’s focus on sustainability continues, with no plastic used in the packaging. For now, this design is specific to the Google TV Streamer, but other products, like the Pixel 9a, still use the older sleeve and label style. It’ll be interesting to see if future devices, like the Pixel 10 series, adopt this updated approach.
